Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Hydroseed Supply (“we”, “us”) operates hydroseedsupply.com. Contact us any time at service@hydroseedsupply.com or 844-4-HYDROSEED.

2. What we collect, and only when you give it

We do not require an account to browse. Information reaches us in exactly three ways:

• Quote requests. When you submit a Project Cart for a quote we receive the name, email address, and ship-to ZIP code you enter, plus your project name, the line items in your cart, and the cart subtotal. Our server also records the date and time, your browser's user-agent string, and your IP address with the request — used to answer you, to work out freight, and to limit form spam.
• Dusty (our AI assistant). Whatever you type to Dusty is sent to an AI provider to generate a reply. If you have a Project Cart open, Dusty is also told your project name, item count, and cart subtotal so its answers make sense. It is not given your name, email, or ZIP. If you use Dusty's voice replies, the reply text is sent to a speech provider to be spoken aloud.
• Ordinary web server logs. Our host records standard request data (IP address, timestamp, page requested) as part of serving the site.

We do not ask for or store payment card details on this site. There is no checkout here — a Project Cart produces a quote request, and any payment happens later, directly with us.

3. Storage in your own browser

Two different things are stored on your device, and they work very differently.

(a) Local storage — always on, never sent to us. These exist only on your device and are not transmitted anywhere unless you submit a quote request:

• the contents of your Project Cart, so it survives a page reload;
• your conversation with Dusty and whether you have turned voice replies on;
• your account and pricing-display preferences for the site's pricing preview;
• your cookie choice, so we don't ask again on every page.

(b) Analytics and advertising cookies — only if you accept. When you first visit we ask whether you accept cookies for measurement and advertising. Until you accept, none of them are set — our advertising pixel is not loaded at all, and our analytics runs with storage denied. If you accept, we and our providers set cookies and similar identifiers that:

• measure how many people visit, which pages they read, and which links they follow, so we can improve the site;
• let us show you our own ads on other platforms afterwards (this is commonly called retargeting), and let us see whether those ads led to a quote request.

These are cross-site advertising identifiers — that is their purpose, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it. They are set by our analytics and advertising providers, who receive your IP address and information about your visit. We do not receive your name or email from them, and we do not upload your quote-request details to them.

Declining costs you nothing. Every part of this site — the shop, the calculators, Dusty, the Project Cart and the quote form — works identically either way. Clearing your browser's site data removes all of the above, and you will be asked again.

4. Who else sees it (service providers)

We share information only with the service providers that make the site work, and only the parts they need. By category, those are:

• Website hosting — serves the site and runs the code behind the quote form; receives requests made to the site.
• Database hosting — stores submitted quote requests securely.
• Transactional email delivery — delivers the notification containing your quote request so a person can act on it.
• AI providers — generate Dusty's replies from what you type.
• Speech synthesis — converts Dusty's reply text to audio, only if you turn voice on.
• Web font delivery — our pages load typefaces from a third-party font service, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
• Website analytics — measures site traffic and page performance. Only active if you accept cookies.
• Advertising platform — lets us show our own ads to people who have visited this site, and reports whether those ads worked. Only active if you accept cookies. This provider sets its own cookies and may combine your visit with information it already holds about you.

Our hosting, database, email, AI and speech providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. Our analytics and advertising providers are different: they operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and the advertising provider in particular uses the data for its own purposes as well as ours. We will name the specific provider handling your information on request — email us and we will tell you.

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, some US state privacy laws define "sale" or "sharing" broadly enough to include the use of advertising cookies of the kind described in section 3(b). If you would rather not participate, decline cookies when asked, or email us and we will treat it as an opt-out request.

5. How we use it

To prepare and send your quote, to calculate freight to your ZIP, to contact you about your request, to answer questions through Dusty, to keep the site secure and rate-limit abuse, and to keep our own records of quotes issued. We may email you about the specific request you submitted. We will not add you to a marketing list from a quote request alone.

6. How long we keep it

Quote requests are retained as business records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our tax and accounting obligations. Server and function logs are short-lived and rotate automatically under our host's retention. Ask us to delete your quote record and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

7. Your choices

Email service@hydroseedsupply.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You don't have to be a resident of any particular state to ask — we'll honor the request either way. If you email us to opt out of contact, we'll stop.

Cookies and advertising. You can decline when we ask, and nothing is set. If you accepted and changed your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and you will be asked again — choose Decline. You can also turn off ad personalisation in your account settings on the advertising platform itself, and most browsers let you block third-party cookies entirely. None of these choices affect your ability to use this site or to request a quote.

8. Children

This is a business-to-business supply site and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Security

Quote requests are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in a database that is not reachable from the browser — only our server-side functions can read or write it. No system is perfect, and we won't claim otherwise; if we ever learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll tell you.

10. SMS / text message program

If you provide your mobile number or text our support line (+1 605-368-3232), you consent to receive text messages from Hydroseed Supply related to your inquiry — customer support, troubleshooting, product identification, quotes, and order or delivery updates. Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply. Consenting to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help, or call 1-844-449-3767.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent collected for our text-messaging program are used only to operate that program and are never sold or shared with any third parties for their marketing.

11. Changes

If this policy changes we'll revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we'll say so more prominently than that.
